My grandma loved turtles. They retired to the high desert in Southern California in the 1960’s and I remember visiting many times a year and walking the 3 acre property with my grandma to visit the turtles every morning. She fed them lettuce and cantaloupe and coaxed them out of their underground holes to say hello. What a precious memory to have – and I know she “turtle-y loved” me and teaching me many things like cooking, card making, sewing, embroidery and quilting. I wonder what she’d think about my card making blog now, 60 years later!?
So, as I created this card with the Turtle Friends bundle, I thought about my grandma and all the visits there. I hope you enjoy this fun design featuring the Expressions in Ink paper, loose flower embellishments, Polished Pink ribbon and Checks & Dots embossing folder!
Doesn’t it look great to stamp the turtle onto the Expressions in Ink paper!? It really gives the turtle shell so much texture and dimension, plus all the great colors without having to color!
I’m thrilled that the Turtle Friends bundle came back in stock last week. If you’ve been waiting to order one, you can do that now!

Patty, I love the story about your grandmother, as someone who adored both of my grandmas. I was lucky to have many happy memories with them into my adult years.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your memories of your Grandmother.
You are welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Patty,
What an oh-so-cute card – I have two Great Granddaughters that I would love to make this card for – thank you so much for the inspiration. Do you have a quick video on How You did This?
Also, I have met one of your down-lines that is now living here in Sun City Lincoln Hills and she came over to my class and introduced herself to me – Kristine Frank. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get together soon. Again, thank you for your inspiration. Hugs, Dottie Macken SCLHs Lincoln CA Demo

Good afternoon Patty,
Awwwww I love your card. Thanks for sharing your precious memories of your grandmother… I never really knew mine except my dads mom… They all lived to far away… My moms parents died when I was young… My dads father died when he was young… I spent time with my dads mom when I was young.. She lived in Pittsburgh and mom and dad would take me there so I could spend 3 weeks over the summer with them..I had good friends on their street to play with
Wish we could all have our grandparents around longer… would love to spend time with them now!!! We don’t realize how special they are when we are little. 🙂
Thank you for sharing the fun pictures and memories of your grandmom!
Glad you enjoyed it Lisa!

What a beautiful memory you shared of your grandmother and the turtles. Thank you for sharing such a sweet story!
Love the story about your grandmother. I also like her house. It has a Frank Lloyd Wright look to it.
