You know I love flowers, you know I love to color…. so coloring flowers makes me VERY happy!! I was excited to share this easy watercoloring technique with you yesterday during my weekly live video. Coloring on the Abigail Rose designer paper with watercolor pencils is really a quick and easy way to create beautiful floral designs!
Add color to the designer paper with the Stampin’ UP! watercolor pencils, then blend with the Water Painter! Use paper snips to fussy cut the floral images and add them to cards or other projects.
The card I created before the live video (below) features an Orchid Oasis cardstock base and an overlay from the Split Card Textures die, die cut in basic white cardstock.
As you can see below, I just couldn’t stop coloring once I started.. I kept experimenting with different color combos and had fun shading and blending! If you are not finding the exact pencil color you want, just layer 2 or 3 colors together!
All supplies are available by clicking the product photos at the bottom of this post. Thank You is from the Go-To greetings set and is stamped onto a sweet little scalloped rectangle from the Mini Pocket Envelope dies.
Watch the video below and tune in tomorrow to see some other cards I created with these supplies. Thank you for joining me each week and for placing your orders with me! I appreciate you!

These cards are so pretty, Patty! You have inspired me to purchase watercolor pencils. As long as I have been stamping, I have not attempted using water color pencils. You have made this look like so much fun. Thank you very much for this fantastic video, as well as ALL of your inspiring ideas!
THank you!! I hope you have fun!!
Hi Patty thanks for the video and tips on water coloring- can I ask how do you store your pencils?
They are just standing up in a pretty mug 🙂 Nothing fancy, just grabbed it from the kitchen. 🙂
