These fun gnomes just took me right back to my childhood days of playing with Besty McCall paper dolls!! It was so fun to die cut the 4 pieces and create all these cute gnomes for my cards!
I had a wonderful childhood in the 60’s and 70’s… and one of the things I loved to do was play with paper dolls. Die cutting and assembling these cute Gnomes Dies really reminds me of those days of building my paper dolls and dressing them up!! I used Basic White cardstock for all the beards, and used patterns from the Stampin’ Up! Storybook Gnomes and Santa Express designer paper packs for the hats and shoes. See below for my tip on die cutting the noses!
After making the gnomes, I decided on a simple, duplicatable card layout. Each A2 size card has a piece of 4″ x 5-1/4″ Storybook Gnome paper, then a tag die cut with the same paper, a die cut circle, then the gnome. I changed up the greetings to include Christmas, Birthday and Thank You!
Adding some sequins or embellishments to each card gave them a sparkly colorful touch. The card below is embossed with the Gingham embossing folders just for some extra texture.
What do you think.. do you like that tip about coloring just a little bit of cardstock for a smaller die cut image? I used a Stampin’ Blends marker.. you could also use a blending brush, sponge dauber or regular marker.
Kindest Gnomes bundle available online #159626. Dies also available separately, #159625
