True Story… I was struggling with how to use this shape from the Nested Essentials dies set. I guess it just wasn’t speaking to me. But then, I received a RAK card from my team member Cathy Z., and she used this die in a card design (different supplies), and I fell in love with this shape used this way!! Our Luv 2 Stamp Group RAK program (Random Acts of Kindness) is organized by Tammy C. and every month those who wish to participate make and mail cards to each other! I was blessed with a great card from Cathy that inspired me to make these fall cards!
To Make This Card:
- Cut a base card at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, score in half at 4-1/4″
- Cut 1″ off the front flap
- Die cut 2 nesting pieces from the Nested Essentials dies (shown below)
- Score the larger die and tuck it behind the 4″ x 5-1/2″ insert piece
- Decorate with designer paper of your choice
- Stamp or decorate the smaller Nested die, trim to size and adhere over the colored die cut
I created 3 versions of this card, all featuring the Naturally Gilded designer paper and the new Oxidized Copper paper. Each card also features the beautiful fall image from the Rustic Crate bundle, stamped onto Basic White cardstock with Memento Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends markers. See all the colors used below in the product photo section. Click any product to shop in my online store!
And if I don’t say it enough… Thank You for your orders!!!
What do you think? I followed the example in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog for the image above/below and used Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends markers to color the flowers. I have not used Moody Mauve a ton yet, and I think this turned out so pretty!!
And when you can’t decide what color you want to color the flowers… you just keep experimenting with lots of colors!
