The Merry Medley background stamp from Stampin' Up! is one of my favorites this season. You've probably noticed me using it in quite a few projects on my blog this fall.   Today I am sharing 2 ways to use it on your holiday cards!

Remember, if your Christmas cards are done, you can always turn any of these ideas into your Christmas Thank You cards!

For the note cards above, I used the Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake note cards and cut the stamped background stamp in 1/2, matted it onto Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and then matted that onto the note card.  All the stamping is done in Cherry Cobbler.

Merry Medley background stamp Christmas card with stamped seasonal bells and Bell Punch from Stampin Up by Patty Bennett at pattystamps.com

Merry Medley Vintage Card:

On the full A-2 size card above, I stamped the Merry Medley background stamp onto Crumb Cake cardstock in Cherry Cobbler ink, then sponged the edges with more Cherry Cobbler ink.  I matted it onto a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and then onto a folded Cherry Cobbler card.

The Joyful Christmas sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and die cut with the Layering Ovals framelits, then also sponged with Cherry Cobbler ink around the edge.  It is found in the Wonderful Year stamp set, pg 28, Holiday catalog.

I thought the stamped bells might be a pretty addition to this vintage-feel card, so I stamped them in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, sponged them with Cherry Cobbler ink and then punched them out with the coordinating bell punch.  This stamp set and punch are ALSO a money-saving bundle, found on page 26 in the holiday catalog, or, see all the products available to make these cards at the bottom of this blog post.

I wanted to make the bells shimmer with Wink of Stella, but I was afraid if I just brushed it on, it would smear the Cherry Cobbler ink, so, I came up with this  Tip for "glimmering" the bells!

Crafting Tip: how to make the shimmery bells for Merry Medley background stamp Christmas card with stamped seasonal bells and Bell Punch from Stampin Up by Patty Bennett at pattystamps.com

Isn't that a GREAT tip!?  I loved how it turned out… it's so shimmery in person.. Wink of Stella is definitely my "go to" accessory this year!

The bells are embellished with lots of the teeny tiny pearls from Stampin' Up! and 2 types of ribbon: Very Vanilla lace trim and 1/4" Gold Natural Trim.
