Starting Tomorrow, August 1st, you can order this fun Carols of Christmas bundle – an early pre-release purchase opportunity one month ahead of the Stampin' Up! 2017 Holiday Catalog release! I am sharing a pretty card and fun embossing paste & glitter "snow" technique with you today! I made this card when I stamped with Cindee a couple weeks ago!!! So fun!
You might be asking… #1, how did you get that amazing fun glittery snow?? (read on in this post for the secret using Embossing Paste!) and #2, how did you get 3 colors on your Peace on Earth stamp!? For that trick, we inked the top 1/2 of the stamp on a Dapper Denim pad, then the bottom 1/2 on a Tranquil Tide pad, and then used a black Stampin' Write marker to go over the center… then stamped on Whisper White die cut with a Stitched Shape framelit.
This is what the stamp set and framelit die bundle looks like… order #146036 for wood mount and #146037 for clear mount rubber here in my online Stampin' UP! store.
Now, on to the secret of the snowy, glittery hillside and trees! Spread Embossing Paste onto cardstock with your palette knife, making it somewhat uneven to resemble a snowy blown wintery hillside, then sprinkle with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter while the paste is still wet!!!! (yes!! I actually used glitter!!!)
I did the same thing with the die cut trees from the Carols of Christmas bundle (Card Front Builder framelits) … so cool!!!
And when you add those trees to your project, don't forget that the mini Dimensionals are perfect for the "tree tops".
You might have see my Facebook Live video where I gave this card away!! The winner was Tricia Butts from Colorado and I have mailed this fun card to her! (missed that video? CLICK HERE).
Oh, and here is another tip!! Use the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper behind the moon and stars die cut in the night sky!! So pretty!!! Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper is found on page 194 in the Stampin' Up! catalog, or here online #135315
Special Thanks to Holly Stene for her inspiration for this card!!
