I recently recorded this Facebook Live video and put it on my YouTube channel but realized that not everyone follows me there, so I thought I better share these Tips for Organizing your Craft room here with you on my blog!

Hi Patty! Thanks for all the great tips you shared today! I have a tip for you prevent backwards print in your Facebook Live videos. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/Cb_Kal7fRPU
THanks Linda.. her video is for an iPhone. I use a Samsung.. if you find a way for me to flip it on a Samsung (android) phone, I’d love to watch that. I have searched and googled for years and cannot find the answer.
The Container store is my favorite store as well. When I take my granddaughter shopping we go to Forever 21 (or used to). then I took her to the container store and she was bored and I say Hey, this is my Forever 21.
What do you do with your scraps? One bin or by color with the main color? I have a hard time letting go of any scrap.
Yes, I call it my Disneyland 🙂
I would like to make your curly paper Christmas trees. Which paper would you recommend?
Hi Cindy, you can really use any designer paper of your choice. A Christmas pattern, or Christmas colors, and double sided paper would be my suggestion. We will have new Christmas paper out in about 6 weeks! You can see the video tutorial here: https://youtu.be/EHXQQnaak_E
I watched a video you did and you said something about how you had your catalogs unbound or how you made them lay flat. Can’t remember your process and would love to do it as well. Can you point me to a tutorial or something? Thanks.
Hi Denise, here is the link for that video, I’ll make sure it’s linked on the video on YouTube too: https://youtu.be/TDS4LeAkCeo
Than you so much for organizing our lives. I really appreciate your tutorials. DB
Love your organizing ideas. I, too, have to keep things visible. The old phrase,”out of sight, out of mind” , is so true! I have to have everything at close proximity. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on 25 years!
Thank you Cindy, and glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing your tips. How do you store your embossing folders?
I store them in the same wood boxes as my dies, from Stamp-n-Storage. You can see the boxes here: https://pattystamps.com/2019/11/stampin-up-die-storage-solution.html
Hi Patty,
I am just watching your organizing video. My first time seeing any of your videos and enjoying it. I wanted to say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
I am a novice card maker. My mentor is a friend of mine and is now a demonstrator for SU. She has been EXTREMELY generous and gives me all of her old supplies and now all of her retired SU supplies. It amazes me how much she had after 10 years. I have a small bedroom which is now my craft room, just for card making and it is stuffed, so I am always interested in seeing how other ppl organize. I like some of your tips and will use them to try and be even more organized. I too like to have lots of “go to” items at my finger tips, like, a lot of my birthday card sets and supplies, because that is the type of cards I make the most. I too get lost in all my supplies once I put them away. I can remember the stamp I want, but not the name of the set or what set it was with. I am on the Care Team for church and my special ministry is to make the birthday cards, SO, that plus my family and friends and even special neighbors, get bday cards from me. I love it and wish I had more days of just sitting in my craft room and becoming inspired. I am not brand new at this, but feel like a novice, as I had never before felt I was creative and always wanted to be. I LOVE cards, always have. I have almost every card I have every been given as an adult, no kidding, and I am 59 y/o. NOW, I have started going back through them and deciding which ones to keep forever, which ones to upcycle and which ones to recycle through the city recycle program. I have enjoyed upcycling and resending some just this year. It feels so good to make a new card out of an old card and share the love. I just received the Sunflower set and look forward to making some new cards with it. I am not a fussy, matchy-matchy crafter and will try to use what I have as far as colors of paper and inks etc. I have SO much, so I want to use up what I already have and rarely buy new, but when I saw the Sunflower set, I knew I had to have it. 🙂
I really like your label maker and have been thinking of getting one, knowing that would make me feel so much more organized. I don’t have a iphone, or use bluetooth, so not sure if I can link it up like you did, but might go to the store and talk to them about it and others. To get started reseaching will make me feel better. I am a get-er-done person and the sooner I get started, the less stressed and better I feel about a project etc. Procrastination can be a great motivator, but I don’t like being rushed and last-minute maker, because it feels rushed and last minute or might even get in the mail late. I like to get things in mail early, like right now I am all caught up on June bday cards except one for my fav neighbors whose bday is end of month. So, probably this weekend I will get her card made, with the new card set. 🙂 Then July babies cards, I would like to start and get in mail at first of the month. I like them to get their cards before their bdays. 🙂
I also have my own business, which I have been working all along, throughout the virus. I have lost very little work or it was suspended and am now back to full schedule except one job which I have lost to due their retirement. I have been enjoying LOTS of yard work and fun with plants, since the beginning of the virus, on my days off. I also am part of many plant groups on FB and local neighborhood grp, and swap plants with others. I LOVE that. Cards and yard/plants are my top two favorite hobbies.
So, needless to say, I am busy and can use all the organizing tips and tricks I can find.
I use Dollar Tree for my baskets and containers, organizers. Even turned my clients on to all the great things you can find there for $1 each. Also, cards and craft supplies. Sometimes I cannot make a card as cute as ones I have found there for .50 cents. 🙂
Well, thanks again for all the organizing tips. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Happy stamping, Liz Kinley
Hi Patty, Great tips! I too find it just as much fun to organize as it is to stamp! I thought you mentioned a label maker you use and can’t remember. What do you use? My label maker is acting up and need to replace, yours sounded neat! I use mine to label my stamp sets that have coordinating dies. I keep my dies by my die cutting machine and don’t always remember what the coordinating stamp or dies are called so I mark each as I get them so I can pull that one without having to go through everything.
Hi Cyndy, It’s right at the 22 minute mark if you want to see it.. Brother P-Touch cube. I love it!
Thanks so much!
