Would you like some inspiration for the Beautiful Trees dies? I have created lots of combinations using cardstock and the Beauty of the Earth designer paper to bring you these Card ideas for the Beautiful Tees dies! Find the Beauty of the Earth Suite online or on pages 10 and 11 of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog.
You’ll find more info in the video linked at the bottom of this post, but in a nutshell, I die cut the tree trunk/branch die from the Beauty of Friendship bundle with either Crumb Cake, Soft Suede or Early Espresso cardstock, then die cut the larger solid tree top piece with shades of green, orange or yellow cardstock and I die cut all of the detailed leaves die with the Beauty of the Earth designer paper. They are layered together with the tree trunk part sandwiched in the center.
You can see that just by changing the color scheme for these 3 die pieces, you can create really different looking trees for all seasons.
The card bases are standard 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ bases, with 1″ cut off the front flap. I added a 3″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Beauty of the Earth designer paper to the left front of the card, then a Basic White die cut from the Scalloped Contour dies and placed the tree on top. A 3″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White is mounted inside for writing the message.
Below: get creative and try fun techniques like sponging on the trees or stamping some detail on the die cut for added depth and dimension.
Above & Below: the solid tree top portion is sponged with color to add extra depth.
Just imagine all the colorful combinations of the die cut pieces you can put together to make amazing projects for all seasons!
Above: I love how you can even create a wintry tree scene with the Beauty of the Earth designer paper and these Beautiful Trees dies!
